This activity book challenges kids to take charge of the world they wish to create by engaging with their imagination and designing inventive solutions to the challenges faced in the imaginary City X—the first human settlement on a new planet. The activities encourage inclusive solutions to create a harmonious environment for the diverse community of City X.

A set of color-coded logos were developed to help identify each type of activity in the book: Explore, Synthesize, Imagine, Create, and Share.
The large chapter opener illustrations depict the theme of each chapter in a dramatic, colorful, and inclusive way. Even though the scenes depict a new community on a different planet, the author didn’t want the scenes to be too much like The Jetsons so as to be relatable to children.
Continuous landscape backgrounds underscore the idea of exploring another planet. Each chapter is color-coded by the monochromatic color scheme of the backgrounds and the tabs that hug the edge of the page.
Meet the citizens of City X! We created a colorful and diverse cast of characters to populate this new planet. Included are a wide range of cultures and ages that children need to consider when inventing their solutions for City X.
