A Personal History in Twelve Songs
The Gershwins and Me is a comprehensive deluxe box set written by celebrated entertainer Michael Feinstein that tells the fascinating story of the Gershwin brothers’ lives and legacies through twelve of their most iconic songs. Our design was inspired by sheet music covers, typography, and patterns from the music industry in the 1930s, but presented with a modern crispness.

Inspired by old sheet music covers, the package is printed on linen-textured board with copper foil stamping. A black linen lined tray slides out which houses all the components in recessed layers.
Ira Gershwin was Michael Feinstein’s close friend and mentor, and the author shares unforgettable stories of the Gershwins and their legacy. Rare and personal Gershwin photos and memorabilia the author has collected through the years help bring his illuminating narrative to life.
A black satin bowtie ribbon holds the CD in place. The disc design is reminiscent of an old record label from the ’30s.
Replicas of notes, sheet music, photos, and postcards from the Gershwins are housed in a black-marbled folder with pockets.
