Edith Hamilton’s Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes has sold millions of copies since its original publication in 1942 and has become a touchstone tome on the subject. For the 75th edition, we were commissioned to give the book a modern refresh. Our approach incorporated crisp, bold typography and intricate Grecian-style borders. An accompanying encyclopedia, Classical Mythology A to Z by Annette Giesecke, was published as a companion resource.

Illustrator extraordinaire Jim Tierney created the central illustration, and we handled the typography and borders.
Subtly different icons adorn the case covers of each book.
Family trees were included in this edition to help readers navigate the intricate and complex relations within Greek mythology.
